October Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, October 18, 2005 6:00pm
In attendance: Michael Sansone, Melanie Judd, Michelle Bassett, Cindy Hillstrom, Kay Larrison, Sabrina Peart, Natalie
Shupe, John Larrison.
Equipment – We need to order more paint for the spring season and next year. Mike
is going to see if we can combine orders with Clearfield to save shipping costs. We also need to purchase a set of U8 nets. Melanie will check
prices with Score (Update – 10/19 – Clearfield
will not be ordering until next summer, so we will need to order our own)
Referee info – Intermediate Class will be held on Nov 5th starting at 8 a.m. at Valley Elementary School. POC is Cindy Hillstrom and we are looking to have a minimum of 10 attendee’s. Fall referee incentives have been determined and will be distributed out in the next few weeks by Cindy.
Coach info – AYSO National Coach John Ouellette will conduct a beginning Coach Instructor Course on Nov 18th
& 19th. This will be held at Bluffridge Elementary School at the POC will be Michael.
This
clinic will accomplish two things:
#1 -
Everyone who wishes to be an instructor (Coach, Referee or Management) must take the 3 hour "Introduction to Instruction"
course which will be offered Friday Nov 18th. This would be a good opportunity
for anyone who wants to start their instructor certification path. From what
I understand in talking to Greg, if an individual has completed the intermediate UIB at last years section meeting they are
not required to take this portion of it.
#2 -
Saturday the 19th is the Basic Coaching Instructor course(Discipline). At the
completion of this course an individual will be certified to instruct the U6/U8/U10 and Youth Course (U12).
Section Meeting – Region 422
will be sending 8 people for training in Las Vegas. This will be on the 20-22nd of Jan, 2006.
Fundraiser/Pictures – We received
the pictures from Tot Shots but have not yet received the Beef Jerky. We are
going to wait until the Jerky arrives and then call the coaches and have them meet at the Huntsville Library to pick up their
team photo’s and jerky. The division coordinators will keep any that are
not picked up and the coaches will be required to schedule a time with them to pick it up.
Registration 2006 – After brainstorming
on what would be the best approach for the region and the kids the following have been proposed and approved by the entire
board:
Region
422 will have 2 ($45.00) early bird registrations –
*Saturday
April 22nd at the Huntsville library from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
*Thursday
April 27th at the Huntsville Stake
Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Only online pre-registration forms accepted)
There
will also be 1 ($55.00) regular registration –
*Saturday
April 29th at the Huntsville library from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
Everything
will be done online this year to make it easier.
Also
in addition to the Multi-child discount of $5.00 after the second child the region will now offer a volunteer discount of
$10.00 for the following year to anyone who sign’s up as a Coach/Referee/Field Coordinator (based on availability).
The board
also approved a volunteer discount of $30.00 for a volunteer who serves on the region board for a year. This will be retroactive to the start of this year so that current board members will be eligible for next
year.
Appreciation
Dinner – We will be having an appreciation dinner on Saturday Nov 19th at the Larrison’s house. The region will be providing the Meat/Chicken/Pork and potatoes. Social hour will be from 4-6p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. This will be for all board members and there
spouse or significant other. RSVP with Kay Larrison by Nov 5th.
